Logic4training Survey Reveals Benefits of a Diversified Skill-set

Over 75% of respondents stated increased profits as a result of upskilling, as well as other benefits for those that diversify their skill-sets beyond their initial training, such as enhanced work satisfaction and a larger customer base.

Of the areas that professionals can upskill into, gas is the most popular, with 60.5% of respondents having moved across after starting their careers in a different field.

Gas is particularly popular amongst plumbers, as over 73% have added gas qualifications to their arsenal. Overall, 93% of respondents recommended upskilling.

On average, respondents who had upskilled did so in approximately two other disciplines, with the majority undertaking independent training courses (72.8%), followed by on-the-job training (45.63%), while 40% combined a course with work experience.

Martin Krull, Director for Logic4training, said: โ€œWith over 75% of our survey respondents stating increased profits as a result of upskilling, the benefits of being multi-skilled are clear.

โ€œWe offer a range of training programmes for experienced installers looking to diversify into related areas โ€“ such as gas and electrical work.

โ€œIf you havenโ€™t done so already, maybe 2019โ€™s the time to move from one trade to two (or more!)โ€

In order to help building services engineers progress in their career, Logic4training has produced a multi-jobbing flow chart outlining the most popular pathways, including findings from its recent upskill survey.
