NAPIT are pleased to announce two new additions to the company including Technical Scheme Development Manager, Justin Maltby-Smith and Head of NAPIT Training, Brett Forster. We provide an insight into their industry background and what they have planned for the future with NAPIT.
Justin Maltby-Smith: Technical Scheme Development Manager
With his experienced background working within the electrical industry, Justin explains the various roles he has had throughout his career, starting as an apprentice electrician and studying for a variety of City & Guilds qualifications. After completing his 4-year apprenticeship Justin expanded his work further into consultancy, education and owning an electrical contracting business.
Holding a Higher National Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Electrical Engineering and Management, Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, Master of Business Administration Degree and a Doctor of Business Administration Degree, Justin is also registered as a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), a Chartered Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
Before joining NAPIT Justin worked with another scheme provider for over 13 years and for the last 6 years was the Head of Schemes and Operations.
Justin’s new role at NAPIT will include project management, the development of new technical schemes and will support the NAPIT technical team at national technical committees and working groups. Justin adds, “My aims are to develop technical schemes that will allow NAPIT members to demonstrate their competence in these work activities and to provide them with new business opportunities.”
Brett Forster: Head of NAPIT Training
With years of experience in the industry Brett has previously worked with another scheme provider for over 22 years and progressed within this position to Head of Business Development. After this role he also worked as a Sales Director for a national training provider.
Brett’s new role and responsibilities at NAPIT involve being responsible for the training division which includes management of the three main NAPIT training and assessment centres in Bristol, Oldham and Mansfield and satellite training centres which are throughout the UK.
Explaining the importance of this role and what he would like to achieve at NAPIT Brett comments; “I want to ensure our existing members and new customers enjoy the best technical training in the UK at our centres, whether that be at their local training centre or online.”
