The concept store will provide homeowners and electricians with the first smart home retail experience.
Lutron Electronics, the global leader in lighting and shading control technology, will demonstrate its RA2 Select solution at Situ Live, a new experiential retail concept store launching at Westfield, White City this summer. The first of its kind, the physical and digital retail service will enable consumers and installers to see smart home technology in action.
The UK smart home market is experiencing exponential growth, with annual revenue projected to reach £5.2 billion by the end of the year. Connected home products – lighting controls, thermostats, audio controls, EV charging stations and more – are continuing to see demand skyrocket. Now, more than ever, homeowners and designers need the means to see the technology working harmoniously in situ before they make any purchasing decisions.
Situ Live will provide the first contextualised connected home retail experience for the public, and a key sales tool for designers, installers, and electricians. Alongside Lutron and other home, technology and consumer brands, visitors will be able to see how smart technology from different providers interacts to help them choose the right products for their lifestyle. Specially trained staff will also be onsite to provide insight on technology and its possible uses and benefits.
Inside Situ Live’s Connected Home themed area, Lutron will be featuring its RA2 whole-home lighting and battery-powered automated blinds solutions. The personalised system enables homeowners to create the perfect light in any environment. Using programming and sensors, and controllable through an application on your smartphone or tablet, the solution provides complete control to the homeowner and ease-of-install to the electrician.
“At Lutron, we are constantly striving to offer our customers the perfect lighting experience. By partnering with Situ Live, we are providing consumers, designers and installers with the opportunity to understand the role and benefits of our technology in a smart home,” said Nate Hagemeier, Senior Director Europe & Africa at Lutron. “Seeing how the most innovative brands interact first-hand will enable visitors to make more informed purchasing decisions and confidently make the right choice for their project. A smart home should be greater than the sum of its parts – Situ Live provides us with the means to show that.”
