First impressions count and here Maurice Morton, Sales and Marketing Director at workwear provider Dickies, explains how branded workwear can help you achieve a professional image from the word go.
In a recent survey commissioned by the Electrical Contractors Association, 56% of consumers stated that neat appearance was the deciding factor in choosing a tradesman, with 26% also agreeing that a smart uniform and equipment would seal the deal.
The value of appearance shouldn’t be underestimated. It can be the difference between a tradesman who is struggling to secure work and one who can rely on reputation and word of mouth. The scruffy tradesman stereotype is on the way out, with more and more tradesmen calling for clothing that represents the quality of their service and professionalism.
First impressions really count while on the job and you should look and feel like the professional you are, by making sure you have smart, rugged, workwear that still can withstand the challenges of a day on site.
These days polo shirts, smart trousers and soft shell jackets are ideal for customer facing staff but coveralls for the traditional all over protection are available in a good range of colour, and sizes.
The new ED24/7 Every Day trousers, available in several colours, are not only practical for the everyday working environment but also comfortable and stylish.
Made from 245gsm fabric ensures they are tough but light enough to retain agility.
With cargo pockets to ensure you have direct access to your tools enabling you to finish the job quickly and easily. Also for 2016, Dickies has introduced two-tone polo shirts and the Riverton Polo shirt alongside the two-tone softshell jacket.
Put a name on it!
Nothing states professional quite like embroidered workwear. Embroidered company logos or badges on work shirts, gloves, overalls and jackets provide an air of authority and quality and Dickies will help achieve that professional look with their personalised embroidery service for all types of workwear. The Dickies embroidery team will also provide expert advice on the colour, size and placement of embroidered logos. Professionally embroidered logos can be used to complement formal work trousers, shirts and uniforms, or can be used to polish off casual workwear, such as shorts, t-shirts and caps. Not only does embroidered workwear look professional, it also serves an important identifying and uniting purpose amongst employees.
What’s new?
