Legrand UK & Ireland has underscored its commitment to supporting building and facility managers by launching WEOZ, an award-winning Internet of Things (IOT) -based intelligent building manager.
WEOZ has been developed to provide an alternative to traditional building management system. A user-friendly IoT ecosystem that centres around a network of area managers, it offers the ability to combine all the functions a building needs to achieve energy efficiency – such as lighting control, air quality and metering.
The solution has already been named Best New Digital Technology at the CIBSE Build2Perform SDE Digital Awards 2024, following a rigorous and independent judging process, recognising the significant value it offers customers.
The solution is ideal for small and medium spaces, particularly multi-site businesses, including offices, schools, restaurants and retail sites. It is not only operationally extremely efficient but is also designed with occupant well-being front-of-mind. Crucially, WEOZ offers building managers real-time understanding of occupancy levels of their buildings with the ability to adjust room ambience accordingly. For retailers, this information provides the added benefit of footfall analysis throughout the week.
WEOZ creates a network of connected multi-protocol area managers using edge data and rules management. This affordable and efficient solution is compatible with a number of Legrand’s energy efficiency solutions, including Light Up sensors, and EMDX3 metering, as well as third party systems, including Airzone HVAC controls. It can also be scaled up according to the building’s needs.
Yoshi Kubota, Head of Products – CP Electronics at Legrand, said: “By bringing together our key energy efficiency solutions, building managers can better understand how their sites are being used to enable them to adjust heating requirements more effectively. Ultimately, WEOZ provides more control and real-time understanding than ever before, allowing more informed decisions to be made to create an efficient and more comfortable environment.”
The launch of WEOZ is further evidence of how Legrand is at the forefront of building management challenges. Working side-by-side with building and facilities managers, electrical contractors and real estate development investors, Legrand is committed to improving lives by transforming the spaces where people live, work and meet.
