Hamilton expands installer training course to include wireless audio

Hamilton Litestat has added a new module focused on wireless audio to its popular Smart Lighting and Audio Control Training Courses, which will take place during 2020 at its facilities in Mere, Wiltshire.

The expanded remit of the FREE training course follows the launch of Hamilton’s wireless audio range towards the end of 2019. It has generated a lot of interest amongst professional installers, many of whom have not installed such an audio system before.

During the small group training sessions, installers will be introduced to Hamilton’s wireless audio products and shown how to install and connect the wired amplifier and in-ceiling speakers, how to connect them to the Wi-Fi network, and set up multi-room audio. There will also be guidance on speaker locations for the optimum audio experience. Participants will be guided through the process by Hamilton’s technical team to ensure they are confident in selecting the products and installing them in future projects.

“Although the wireless audio system is extremely easy to install, incorporating it into the Hamilton training sessions imparts installers with greater confidence to suggest smart control products to their customers, allowing them to capitalise on the business opportunity and reassuring them that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to install them,” says Steve Apsey, Hamilton’s Technical Support & Training Manager – Smart Controls.

“The courses are very relaxed and supportive to ensure everyone comes away with the basics of both wireless audio and smart lighting control, even if they’ve never wired one of these solutions previously.”

The training course will continue to cover smart lighting, where trainees will learn how to select the right components for a project and how to both install and configure Hamilton’s plug-and-play 4-channel smart lighting solution, which doesn’t require programming. There will also be the opportunity to learn about additional system functionality for more complex projects.

Upon course completion, attendees will receive a certificate to confirm they’ve been trained on the Hamilton solutions. Additionally, for CEDIA members, Hamilton is an approved CEDIA Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Provider and the ‘Essentials in Smart Lighting Control & Wireless Audio’ Course is a CEDIA-endorsed training programme that will earn 4CEUs towards training requirements. The course can be registered by entering Course Code: CEU829 in the CEU portal.
