We put the questions to Gavin Williams, Sales & Marketing Director at Hamilton Litestat, to learn more about why the latest additions to the Verve white plastic range will be a sound investment.
Q. Hamilton has recently announced two additions to its Verve white plastic range. Tell us more about them.
The ever-growing reliance on smart devices within the home, coupled with the demand for versatile living spaces, has fuelled Hamilton’s latest product development initiative, resulting in the introduction of two new additions to the Verve white plastic range.
Enhanced USB charging
Hamilton’s new ultra-fast combined USB-A 2.4 A & USB-C 3 A double switched sockets (4.8 A total) provide a faster and more convenient way to simultaneously charge laptops/tablets and mobile devices. This complements the existing ultra-fast dual 2.4 A USB-A (4.8 A total) double switched socket.
Expansive LED dimming
Hamilton’s new 250W LED 2-Way rotary dimmers offer 2.5 times the dimming capacity of the standard 100 W dimmer in the range. Compatible with a wide range of LED lamps and luminaires, the LEDITB series offers two-way dimming, making it an ideal choice for rooms with two entrances/exits. The increased capacity makes the LEDITB250 ideal for larger spaces with more lighting, or more complex lighting schemes.
Q. Are there any features/benefits offered by both products that are particularly unique?
A traditional box-fix design with an ultra slim profile, the face plates come with white screw cap covers to give a sleek, screwless appearance. For ease of installation, the modules include in-line terminals with clearer markings. Both the standard 100 W and the newly released 250 W LEDITB dimmers feature a soft start up and down feature. This enhances lighting control for a smoother experience and extends lamp life, while their built-in thermal circuit protection safeguards against overheating.
Q. With consumer demand for ‘smart’ and convenient products and solutions increasing, what role do sockets with advanced capability and LED dimming technology play in this product mix?
Smart homes, although topical, are still out of reach for many. However, with the option of improved charging, and advanced LED dimming technology, homeowners can take a step towards a ‘smarter’ home. This transformation is particularly timely as the modern shift towards remote work has blurred the lines between home and office. The Verve range has responded by providing enhanced functionality, reflecting the dynamic needs of the modern homeowner/worker.
Q. With both products forming part of the Verve white plastic range, why is that white plastic is proving a popular choice at this moment in time?
Across the industry, the conspicuous surge in demand for white plastic accessories has not gone unnoticed. Intriguingly, the current cost-of-living challenges have led to increased use of white plastic in numerous projects. For many discerning customers, the mantra of simplicity and affordability reigns supreme, and this certainly resonates in the Verve collection. With its contemporary curved design and sleek profile, Verve offers an attractive balance between function, form and price. Indeed, sometimes, white is just right!
Q. Which products in the Verve white plastic range have proved most popular over time?
It should come as no surprise that the flexibility of Hamilton’s Micro-Grid switch and EuroFix module options within the Verve range is a favourite among installers.
The Micro-Grid switches are available in 1-6 gang plates and boast a comprehensive selection of 20AX switches printed with clear appliance labels and symbols: Dishwasher, Fridge Freezer, and Oven etc.
As for the EuroFix Module front plates, they’re available in 1, 2 & 4 gang configurations. Modules fit snuggly into the moulded recess of the face plate, while top and bottom locating screws hold them firmly in place.
Q. How does Hamilton assure that its products are of a consistently high quality?
Quality comes as standard! Verve, much like all Hamilton collections, undergoes meticulous quality testing at our Bristol-based factory.
Products are subjected to batch testing, employing a combination of both destructive and non-destructive techniques. We also conduct tests for corrosion resistance and scratch resistance, ensuring strict compliance with British Standards and our internal quality benchmarks before they leave our premises for distribution to wholesalers.
This unwavering commitment to quality extends beyond our in-house production; it encompasses the same rigorous standards we hold for outsourced components. Due to our manufacturing excellence, most Hamilton products are backed by a 25-year guarantee (excludes Verve dimmers (one-year) and Verve USBs (two-years).
