As it enters its fourth year of trading as an independent lighting company, Ovia is bigger, and its future brighter than ever. That’s great news for installers looking for a broad range of lighting products and solutions for their clients.
Ovia was launched at the end of 2019 with the aim of bringing to the professional electrical contractor market an extensive range of high quality, competitively-priced products that are reliable and quick and easy to install. Fast forward to 2022/23 and Issue 4 of the Ovia catalogue has just been launched, showcasing more than 900 individual product lines.
With its extensive collection of luminaires, installers can have confidence that in the Ovia range they will find a lighting solution to fit every possible project they’re working on. All sectors are covered, including domestic, commercial, industrial, utility, amenity, emergency lighting and floodlighting. The lighting offer is further enhanced with a full range of lighting control solutions that will optimise energy saving credentials.
Contractor engagement
Engagement with contractors has been a key element in driving the new product development programme. Regular interaction with contractors via social media, trade magazines and face-to-face at exhibitions and trade shows is how Ovia gains constructive insight into how contractors like to work, the issues they face and what they need to help them do their work in the most time-efficient and cost-effective way.
Spotlight on the premium range
More than 900 individual product lines now make up the total Ovia offer. Sitting within the overall collection is the premium range of products which comes under the well-known Inceptor brand, and Ovia has added some great new products to this collection.
Inceptor Duo is a sleek up and down dimmable linear luminaire. It offers installers and their clients a complete custom dual lighting solution and is perfect for accentuating design features, both high and low. It is available in two lengths – 1200mm and 1500mm – and two wattages – 42W and 56W. There are three colour options to cover all décor requirements – black, grey and white.
The luminaire features a dual CTA switch – OFF, cool white, warm white and day light – and the up and down lights can be controlled separately. The unit is dimmable with emergency versions available.
Inceptor Hi-Lite is a new range of IP65, CTA switchable LED highbays. They are all CTA switchable in 4000K, 5000K and 6500K temperature options. They come in black as standard and there is a choice of wattages – 100W, 150W or 200W. They’re available in a standard version or with integrated microwave sensor.
Stand-out features of the Inceptor Hi-Lite highbays is their compatibility with the 5W three-hour maintained IP65 emergency packs and the fact that they come pre-wired with 3m of flex.
Inceptor U-Lite will join the existing U-Lite luminaire and is designed to bring even more benefits to the installer. Inceptor U-Lite is a slimline, non-corrosive utility LED luminaire, designed to offer protection against the elements. With an integrated diffuser and gear tray anchored to the base, the Inceptor U-Lite ensures a hassle-free installation.
Features that are new to this Inceptor model include switchable CCT (4000K, 5000K and 6500K) and improved assembly. The gear tray and diffuser assembly can be disconnected and removed for lighter/simple installation of the base, whilst multiple positions for the terminal block allows greater flexibility for retrofit installations. The luminaire offers emergency self-test as standard.
Inceptor U-Lite comes in three different lengths – 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm – and each length is available in a single lamp and a twin lamp equivalent output. It is suitable for wall, ceiling or suspension mounting with adjustable fixing centres. Pre-fitted anti-tamper clips allow the installer to screw the retaining clips so that others cannot open the luminaire without the use of a tool.
Go with the (Click) Flow
Installers are already familiar with the Click Flow connector range and the many advantages it offers when considering lighting design projects. Click Flow has now been brought under the Ovia umbrella to complete the offering to installers, contractors and lighting designers.
The range is engineered to make the wiring of complex lighting circuits easier and safer using a combination of distribution hubs, managements boxes and the vast combination of connectors that make up the Flow range.
Ovia already offers a comprehensive lighting design service which provides expertise in choosing the right products and solutions to create a scheme that meets all the requirements and objectives of the project in question, and that is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.
The addition of Click Flow as part of the overall design process will be a valuable aid in helping with product selection and positioning.
