What was the inspiration behind recent improvements to Enkin’s dimming modules?

Josh Hammerton, Founder of Enkin, talks us through the inspiration behind recent improvements to some of the brand’s dimming modules, while also introducing a brand new product.

The Enkin development team consists of electrical experts that hold a combined 60 years of experience, with several members of the team still active in the trade. This means that we have a greater understanding of the issues faced by electricians utilising dimmers into any project, no matter the complexity, from installation issues to compatibility constraints.

Along with a keen determination to produce cutting-edge lighting solutions, Enkin ensures that investing back into our current modules is our number one priority.

We’ve made significant technological advancements that have undoubtedly set a new standard for dimming technology, but we recognise that there’s always room for improvement, not just for the end user, but for the professionals installing our modules as well.

As such, we’re excited to announce significant improvements to several existing products within our range, as well as introducing our latest product launch.

Listening to customer feedback

Our mission will always be to provide working solutions to an often-overlooked element of home lighting and provide electricians and end-users alike with a product that will revolutionise the safety and reliability of their lighting setup.

With these modifications, we’re showing that Enkin is listening and investing back into itself for the benefit of our clients.

Let’s now take a look at some of the key improvements that have been made to Enkin’s PDM150, PDM400 and PDM250 dimmer modules:

Module housing improvements

We’ve modified the shape of the module housing to include channels on either side of the casing that slot easily over pattress box threads for a more comfortable fit. This keeps our modules up-to-date with back box upgrades and allows more clearance during installation.

Visible set-up buttons

The black set-up button has been replaced with a contrasting green button for easy location during installation.

Pre-set minimum brightness

Dimmers are now pre-set with a minimum ambient light output. This can be changed to zero using the set-up buttons.

Upgraded dimmer stalk across all dimmers

All dimmer stalks now have improved tactility, offering a more comfortable resistance for precise dimming. These are now standard across all of the dimmers in our range.

Compatibility research

With continued research and compatibility testing, we’ve expanded our list of ranges that are fully compatible with Enkin modules. For a comprehensive list of these compatible ranges, visit: enkin.com

Introducing the PDI200 Intermediate Dummy Dimmer

The latest addition to the Enkin range, the PDI200 intermediate dummy dimmer module is designed to replace a simple on/off rocker switch for a dimmer module with intermediate switch capabilities. This allows you to match your dimmer switches for a more visually cohesive switch plate.

The dummy dimmer only performs simple on/off functions and allows individuals to control lights from more than one location.
