Buzz Electrical raises money with charity football match

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Buzz Electrical held a charity football match which raised more than £400 for two national diabetes charities.

The charity football match is just one of the events planned to commemorate and celebrate 20 years of Buzz Electrical.

The match raised funds for Diabetes UK and JDRF, a charity that focuses their attention specifically on those with type 1 diabetes.

Played between Buzz Electrical and Badsey United Old Boys, the match finished 3-1 to the latter.

Steve Owens, organiser on the day along with his wife Sue, commented: “We’re so grateful to everyone that came along to support us and donate to both the diabetes charities, enabling us to raise awareness and valuable funds for such a valuable cause.”

After the presentation and the raffle, Martin Skembry, goalscorer for Badsey, said: “It was a competitive game despite being a charity match, and it was an even game until the last 10 minutes.

“We’re all old and we’re all proud, so of course we all wanted to win – our back four had a combined age of 215!”
