Devondale Electrical Wholesaler’s Bideford branch has been shortlisted in the North Devon Journal Business Awards in two categories.
The branch, which opened in late 2016, has been named as a finalist for Business Growth of the Year and Apprentice Employer.
Branch Manager Sam Stephens says he was inspired to enter the awards after the phenomenal growth of trading at the branch, and the success of its apprentice programme.
Bideford’s first apprentice, Levi Craze, recently won a Learning Achievement Award 2018 presented by trade association The Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA), as part of its National Apprenticeship Week celebrations.
He has now been taken on full-time in the branch and is mentoring the branch’s new apprentice.
Sam added: “We’re very excited to be finalists and representing Devondale Electrical in the area.
“When the branch opened we knew very quickly that it was going to be a success, and everyone is thrilled that our efforts are being recognised in this way.”
The winners will be announced on May 24 at Highbullen Hotel Golf & Country Club, hosted by Jim Parker, Editor of the Devon Weeklies including the North Devon Journal and Judi Spiers, presenter and broadcaster.
