Football Duo to Kick off Live North

Mark Lawrenson & Ray Stubbs have been announced as guest speakers at this year’s Live North.

The duo, who were mainstays of BBC’s football coverage, will kick off the event, which is hosted by NICEIC & ELECSA, and brings together electrical contractors from across the north west of England.

They will be dipping into their enormous treasure trove of football tales to discuss what it takes to get to the top. It’s a chat that combines humour, determination and the will to succeed from two of the game’s most famous faces.

Mark Smith, marketing and communications director at NICEIC and ELECSA, said: “We are delighted to have Mark and Ray join us for a day that promises to be both fun and educational. As a centre back for Liverpool, Mark was an integral part of one of the greatest teams ever. He will be discussing the qualities required to build a successful team, while Ray, who started out as a footballer, will talk about the changes he had to make to become one of the nations’ best loved sports reporters.

“It’s a talk that will resonate not only with football fans, but everyone who aspires to be the best in their business.”

Live North will also feature a series of seminars from some of the electrical industry’s biggest names.

NICEIC and ELECSA’a technical experts will be providing an overview of the changes contained within the 18th Edition of the wiring regulations.

Billy Byrne, the resident electrician on BBC TV’s DIY SOS will be chatting about life on the show, Mark Coles from the IET will discuss Surge Protection Devices and there will be a series of talks and workshops to help contractors build their business.

Attendees will also be able to access some great discounts from suppliers including Bosch, ESP, Scolmore, Brother and many more in a packed exhibition hall.

“The 18th Edition regulations will be coming into operation just over a month after Live North, so for many it will be the last chance to find out all the information they need to know,” added Mark.

“It will be a chance for attendees to quiz our experts and discuss some of the changes. We will also have a good mix of business and technical seminars from some of the industry’s biggest names.”

Live North takes place on November 22 at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.
