JTL encourages electricians to upskill and increase their career prospects

Leading work-based training provider, JTL, is encouraging electricians to upgrade their skills and knowledge to ensure they can work competently in potentially explosive atmospheres with the support of certification body, CompEx (part of the JTL Group).

Appealing to those who are fully qualified, newly qualified or still in training to become an electrician, the ExF Foundation qualification offered by CompEx, provides trade professionals with the opportunity to develop their specialist knowledge, enabling them to broaden their career prospects and earnings potential.

The theory-only course, which takes between one and two days to complete, provides electricians with the basic awareness and understanding of the key aspects of working in and around hazardous areas. It also serves as a foundation for those who wish to develop their knowledge before undertaking more in-depth CompEx qualifications.

Paul McGuire, Chief Operating Officer at JTL, comments: β€œAchieving CompEx certification is essential for trade professionals who work in hazardous areas. From safer working conditions to protecting the reputation of your business, everyone is safer certified.

β€œThe ExF Foundation course is a great way of providing employees with the basic awareness and understanding of the key aspects of working in and around hazardous areas. Since the start of the pandemic, many CompEx centres have been providing online learning for the ExF course. To complement this remote learning provision, CompEx has also introduced a new remote version of the ExF assessment which can now be completed online in the comfort and safety of the learner’s home or place of work”.

Joining the JTL Group in 2014, CompEx has been recognised as the international scheme for competency validation and certification of personnel who work in explosive atmospheres for nearly 30 years.
