Luceco shows bright ideas for Macmillan Cancer Support

Staff members at Luceco, the Telford-based leading lighting, electrical and power business put their best fundraising ideas forward this week when they welcomed Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan Regional Fundraising Manager, Kate Thomas, joined employees at their Telford office where she teamed up with Will Hoy, Chief Financial Officer at Luceco Group, to discuss ideas for the company’s fundraising future.

The charity, chosen by employees to support throughout 2024, heard a multitude of ideas from lighting up the Wrekin to coffee morning bake-off competitions, walks, runs, bike rides, and even getting on the water to take part in the Coracle World Championships, a huge corporate event which takes place on the River Seven in Shropshire.

Will Hoy, Chief Financial Officer at Luceco, said: β€œAfter announcing Macmillan as Luceco’s charity partner for 2024, staff across the company have been eager to start fundraising and have come up with lots of great ideas to help us reach our goal. As the majority of Macmillan’s work is funded by donations, we understand how important our fundraising efforts are to help this charity do incredible work.”

Kate Thomas, Relationship Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support in the West Midlands, said: β€œIt’s great to be back with the team at Luceco and hear all the fabulous fundraising ideas they’ve come up with.

β€œHaving Luceco as a fundraising partner means that Macmillan will be able to provide more physical, financial, and emotional support for people living with and beyond cancer, thanks to their donations.

β€œWe’re looking forward to seeing their fundraising events throughout the year.”
