SPARKS Learner of the Year 2025 – Applications Now Open!

The SPARKS Learner of the Year competition is back for 2025, marking its 15th year of celebrating the brightest young talent in the electrical industry!

This highly regarded competition offers apprentice and student electricians a fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills, build confidence, and win fantastic prizes to support them at the very start of their careers.

Level 2 and 3 students from across England and Wales will compete in six regional heats throughout January and February. The winners of each regional heat will then compete in the Grand Final, which will be held in April 2025.

Competitors will be judged on a series of practical tasks by the official judges from NAPIT’s Technical Team, who will assess their technical skills and execution.

Reflecting on his experience, last year’s winner, Kian Milroy from St. Helens College, said, “It’s been a great experience. I enjoyed meeting the lads and girls, apprentices my age, as I don’t get that at work.”

The Meet the Manufacturer series will run alongside the SPARKS Learner of the Year, offering manufacturers an opportunity to network with and update lecturers on the latest industry and product innovations.

Zoë Tanner, Managing Director at SPARKS Magazine, commented, “We’re excited to see the continued growth of the SPARKS Learner of the Year competition. It’s encouraging to see so much support from leading industry names. This competition is an excellent way for young electricians to build confidence and take pride in their work. Now, more than ever, is the time to support the next generation, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s competition will bring.”

SPARKS Learner of the Year 2025 is proudly sponsored by Luceco Group (Headline Sponsor), Milwaukee, AICO, EAL, Ideal Industries, Snickers Workwear, and NAPIT.

The deadline for entries is 29th November 2024. For more information or to enter the competition, visit www.sparks-magazine.co.uk/learner-of-the-year
