Tony Cable – 1942-2020

It is with great sadness that PE has to report the death of industry legend, Tony Cable, following a long battle with illness.

A 60-year veteran of the electrical industry, there’s very little that Tony didn’t know about being an electrician. Born with the initials AC (Anthony Cable), Tony’s versatility as a professional saw him turn his hand to many roles, including as a maintenance man, company director, helpline engineer, author and presenter. Indeed, his entertaining and always informative presentations as part of the Certsure team with partner-in-crime Darren Staniforth helped countless sparks to gain a better understanding of vital technical subjects. Tony also produced the long-running ‘Final Fix’ series of articles for PE magazine, detailing the many stories from his life as a working apprentice and electrician. A devoted family man, Tony was a friend to all that he met and he will be sorely missed by all those who were priviledged to know him.

PE would like to extend its best wishes and sincere condolences to Tony’s family, friends and colleagues.
