Following the launch of its new Quiet Fan range with IPX5 rating Manrose explores the benefits of this latest bathroom fan.
Ease and flexibility of installation are high up on the agenda for electricians when it comes to selecting a bathroom fan. While for households quiet operation is increasingly on their ‘must have’ lists. The latest launch from Manrose is designed to tick all these boxes with its Quiet Fan – IPX5 incorporating a high extraction rate (75m³/hr) but with an incredibly quiet running volume (27dB(A)), all with the additional flexibility of being IPX5 compliant.
For electricians an IPX5 rating means a fan can be safely installed in Zone 1, which is handy in a small bathroom or shower room where space is at a premium. In social housing SELV fans are vital in Zone 1 to ensure tenant safety and for landlords to fulfil their duty of care, but for private refurbishments, where the householder has often requested the fan, electricians can use an IPX5-rated fan in Zone 1 knowing it is unlikely to be tampered with and can directly explain the need to isolate the fan if the cover is to be taken off. This allows for a simpler, more cost effective install – so happy customers.
The Manrose IPX5 fan also features a low energy motor with a maximum consumption of 7 Watts, a low SFP of 0.33w/l/s and complies with both Part F and Part L of the Building Regulations.
Designed for wall and ceiling mounting, this reliable Quiet Fan is made from high gloss ABS thermoplastics for strength and durability. Meanwhile its high quality, long-life motors are continuously rated and warranted for a minimum of 30,000 hours or 3 years. The fans also comes complete with integral backdraught shutters and are double insulated and so do not require an earth.
