One Electrical PEND-LED

Rob Chadwick, Director at One Electrical, introduces PEND-LED, a brand new product that the company hopes will revolutionise the domestic lighting market with compliance, quality and efficiency guaranteed.

With many companies focusing on downlights for residential lighting many forget that, from many homes, there is still a demand from more traditional pedant style lighting. Understanding that homeowners, councils and housing associations may want to reap the benefits of light output and guaranteed energy efficiency associated with LED lighting, without having cavities cut into their ceiling and pay the extra cost for downlights, we developed PEND-LED.

PEND-LED is the world’s only integrated LED pendant. Designed and tested in the UK by One Electrical Ltd, the tamper-proof, integrated LED light source prevents the removal and possible refit of inefficient light sources, guaranteeing long, lifetime efficiency. Fully compliant with Part L building regulations, PEND-LED is the only LED pendant solution that can offer this.

The product is constructed in a seamless white PC housing with a slim modern looking shape. The curved opal diffuser delivers a smooth uniformed light output and is suitable for use alone or with any standard UK lampshade.

Because it has been designed as an LED luminaire in its own right, PEND-LED offers superior thermal management, performance and life time advantages over current LED retro fit lamps on the market.

Easy Install
Pre-wired to a six inch cable and ceiling rose, PEND-LED is as easy to install as any traditional pendant and is equally suitable for new build or retro fit applications.

We believe the product will be of huge interest to the social housing market given the energy and maintenance cost savings it guarantees for housing associations. We can also see it as a great solution for new builds as the product is fully compliant with Part L.

As I mentioned at the start of the article, we also see a real opportunity in the domestic market where installers can offer a quick and easy, fit and forget solution that won’t intrude or require much change to the client’s existing lighting arrangements. The five-year warranty will provide peace of mind that this is a solution that your clients can trust.

One Electrical are set to launch a series of PEND-LED’s, PEND-LED1 being the first with a 7W size, 650lm and a natural 4000K colour temperature configuration. Further models will include different colour temperatures, lumen outputs and dimmable versions.
