Pete Monfort of Monty Electrics and Arena Training has a new companion onsite this month as he tries out the Ideal 37- 020 Pro Series Premium Tool Pouch.
I’ve had lots of tool bags over the years – from rucksacks, to tote bags to holdalls. Each one, I’ve found, has had its pros and cons. For example, tote bags can carry lots of tools and are easy to access but they can weigh a lot, whereas rucksacks are easy to carry but finding tools buried in the bag can be irritatingly time-consuming.
The Ideal Pro Series Premium Tool Pouch replaced a similar slightly smaller tool pouch which I’d used to carry what I call my ‘90% tools’ – my favourite selection of screwdrivers, hand tools and other bits and bobs that I simply can’t do without.
The unit is just the right size to make it easy to carry around from task to task without pulling an arm out of its socket while the shoulder strap allows hands-free use on longer walks.
It has an array of different sized pouches and pockets which allow me to store all of my most commonly used tools with ease. The slightly larger size of the main pockets also permits storage of one or two larger tools, such as my impact driver.
The build quality is rugged with a tough carry handle, strong webbing and zipped compartments. The stitching is also heavy duty and a useful tape holding chain ensures a selection of tapes can be carried.
Overall I was really impressed with this product and it now goes everywhere with me.
