Here we find out how Product Tester, Kelly Vincent, got to grips with the Draper Plus 9-Piece VDE Torque Screwdriver Set.
I use a torque screwdriver about two or three times a week. Although itβs not part of my everyday kit, I still want something durable and easy to use. So when I was asked to test the Draper Plus 9-Piece VDE Torque Screwdriver Set, I was mainly looking for something that I could easily get to grips with.
“I like the smooth grip and variation of blades. Also, when a torque limit is reached, it makes a clicking sound so that you donβt under or over screw terminal screws.”
In the beginning I found it tricky to use the settings. Now that Iβve used it a couple of times, I understand how to adjust the settings and ο¬nd it easy to use. For that reason I wouldnβt recommend using this screwdriver until youβve had enough time to fully test it and understand how to use it.
The kit I received came with a torque screwdriver, calibration certificate, eight interchangeable blades and a storage roll. According to the manufacturer it can be used for up to 1000 volts AC or 1500 volts DC. However, I havenβt had to use it for volts this high. Itβs also resistant to chemicals, oils and most solvents.
What I like most about the screwdriver is that itβs perfect for my carrying pack and easy for me to ο¬nd in my van. I like the smooth grip and variation of blades. Also, when a torque limit is reached, it makes a clicking sound so that you donβt under or over screw terminal screws. So I think itβs perfect when you have to be precise to stay within the latest wiring regulations. Best of all β and the reason Iβm recommending it β Iβll never worry about over tightening an MCB or main switch again!
