Triton partners with The Heart of England Forest to create lasting legacy

Triton Showers has underlined its commitment to sustainability by partnering with environmental charity The Heart of England Forest.

The midlands-based organisation is dedicated to creating and conserving a 30,000-acre forest, aiming to plant 13 million native broadleaf trees in order to achieve this goal. It forms part of a wider mission to reverse centuries of woodland decline, which has led to the UK having one of the lowest percentages of tree coverage in Europe (at only 13%).

As a ‘Woodland Wonder’ partner in 2021, Triton is supporting The Heart of England Forest to plant over 330 new trees, covering more than half an acre.  Alongside establishing diverse habitats for wildlife to flourish, the trees will also sequester more than 100 TCOupon maturity. Forests have a vital role to play in carbon capture and air purification, which makes it a critical tool in improving atmospheric conditions.

David Tutton, Managing Director at Triton Showers, comments: “Sustainability is central to what we do as a company, whether that’s informing product R&D or providing an energy and water savings calculator to address domestic wastage. As a business, we have halved our own carbon footprint since 2014, and have committed to achieving carbon net-zero by 2025.

“Further to this, we have been a zero to landfill company since 2015, with all of our waste sorted and sent for recycling at organisations that specialise in certain materials. We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment across our business operations, so when we saw the fantastic work being done by The Heart of England Forest, we wanted to offer our support in working towards their important ambition.”

Karen Woodgate, Partnerships Director at The Heart of England Forest comments: “It has never been more important to invest in our natural environment and help combat climate change. Tree planting on this scale makes a significant positive environmental impact, creating a huge carbon sink and helping to mitigate climate change.

“As a charity we rely on the support of businesses and individuals who share our ethos, which is why we’re thrilled to have Triton on board as a partner. Their donation will have a tangible impact on the success of our project, ultimately contributing to a greener future in the UK.”
