We’re back with another #caughtoncamera ! This one was sent in by Mike Bowles “Doing a visual inspection at the start of an EICR and found the electric shower shown on the consumer unit in the ensuite bathroom. It was a 600mm square shower cubicle with the 45A double pole isolator inside the shower cubicle.. It got better – the electric shower was an 8.5kW unit, fed on a 40A mcb, however the cable was only 4mm twin & earth. Needless to say I decommissioned it immediately. The tenant wasn’t very happy!”

Check out this dangerous #caughtoncamera sent over by Richard Marshall “I removed a metal light fitting while carrying out an EICR and found this beauty! Yes, that’s a permanent live in a bare terminal bar from a ceiling rose!”

A shocking #caughtoncamera we received recently from Robert Keighery – “I went to carry out an EICR and found this wonderful bit of so called “genius” – a lighting circuit adapted to feed a surge protected extension lead with all the lighting circuits now on a plug top. It turns out the customer had issues with the bulbs blowing, so someone thought this might solve the problem!”
