A closer look at the design of the latest DSR Electric Combination Radiators from the Electric Heating Company (EHC).
This range of electric radiators has been designed to look like conventional wet system radiators. The outer casing of the product is manufactured using high-grade steel which is zinc coated to prevent rusting. It is then powder coated to provide a lasting enamelled finish which is supported by the company’s 15-year warranty.
The surface of the radiator incorporates a spot welded, high-fin design which boasts six times the normal radiator surface area. Each fin enables cooler air from floor level to be heated as it rises through the radiator creating naturally convected heat which in turn circulates warm air throughout the room from floor to ceiling. The overall effect is a balance of convected and radiant heat for added end-user comfort.
Dependent on the radiator output, there is a series of Magmatic Storage Tablets which provide the heat source. Embedded within each tablet there are high quality chrome-nickel steel heating elements which are designed to prevent corrosion and provide long life durability. The tablets heat up quickly and stores the heat generated which consequently warms the room.
“When the EHC Radiators have achieved their required temperature the thermostat will cut the power to the Radiator.”
The radiators are designed to store the heat directly into the Magmatic Heat Retention Tablets without any loss of energy. When the EHC Radiators have achieved their required temperature the thermostat will cut the power to the Radiator. This process enables the radiators to modulate and maintain a constant room temperature which will result in reduced energy use and running costs. The radiator will continue to provide heat which has been stored in the magmatic tablets for up to 45 minutes with no further use of electricity. As a result, they will only use approximately 20-25 minutes of electricity per hour, depending upon on the building fabric and the outside temperature.
For end user protection, all contacts within the radiator are fully protected with heat shrinkable insulated sleeves and twin thermocouples that provide overheat protection.
High standards
The Radiators are produced in Germany to the highest quality standards and meet the rigorous Approvals for both UK and European legislation and are available in a range of outputs suited to all types of properties with no access to mains gas. They are also accepted as suitable replacements for storage heaters and storage heating systems.
Available in various sizes, including conservatory and vertical styles, and with outputs up to 2400 watt, the radiators are supplied with an installation kit for wall fixing installations. The company also offer a range of castors, feet stands and radiator feet supports as optional extras.
Each Radiator has 1.5m of cable complete with UK three-pin plug for quick installation and operation however they may be spur wired. All EHC Electric Combination Radiators are supplied in white RAL 9003 however they are available, upon request, in any of the 900 colours from the RAL chart to suit your décor.
Open window
The DSR Electric Combination Radiators also have an “Open Window” feature which will detect if there is a significant temperature drop in the surrounding area within a short period of time. If such a drop is detected, the radiator will switch off, preventing energy wastage and the costs that come with it.
Use the app
The DSR Electric Combination Radiator has been designed to be Wi-Fi ready, allowing users to communicate with the product via their computer, tablet or mobile. Users just need to download the EHC app which gives them complete control on the time, temperature and programming of the radiators with the ability to access the Electricity Power Limiter, Electricity Monitor and Radiator Priority settings.
