How to install a Lithe Audio Active Ceiling Speaker in 3 simple steps

Amit Ravat, MD of Lithe Audio, talks us through the process of installing ‘smart’ WiFi and Bluetooth ceiling speakers and explains why experienced installers should already have the skillset required.

Lithe Audio’s all-in one WiFi and Bluetooth ceiling speakers can easily be fitted without any complicated wiring – they simply connect to the lighting circuit.

They have everything built-in, including the high quality amp, so once they’re installed in the ceiling and connected they’re ready to go. The speakers can be voice-controlled via Alexa or Google, or connected to a dedicated App for easy listening.

Also available in the range is the Lithe Audio Pro Series speaker which is a high-spec wireless installation model that delivers high-quality audio coupled with an unrivalled feature set. These include a fully-integrated, built-in 60W RMS class D amplifier, advanced WiSA technology for Dolby Atmos systems, and PoE power delivery for convenience of installation and control.

Despite being packed with innovative tech and features, Lithe Audio ceiling speakers simply install like a downlight: you cut a hole and then wire the power supply into your lighting circuit or from a fused spur – after that you’re up and running. There’s no hassle involved and no complicated programming, as they’re specifically designed to make life straightforward for the installer.

HOW TO INSTALL A LITHE AUDIO ACTIVE CEILING SPEAKER – 3 EASY STEPS!

STEP 1: INSTALL

Locate an ideal position for the speaker, making sure you avoid joists and cables. As a guide, for every 4m by 4m space you should install one speaker in the middle. Cut-out a 210mm hole using a pad saw or Lithe speaker hole saw and install a fire and speaker acoustic hood above the speaker.

STEP 2: POWER

Connect the power driver to any permanent live feed – this can be a lighting circuit or power circuit. Optionally, you can run a speaker cable to a passive speaker for a stereo pair set-up.

STEP 3: PLAY

Pair your phone, tablet, and/or voice assistant to the speaker via Bluetooth, Airplay2 or Chromecast. When you open any music streaming App you can now effortlessly stream music to a single room or throughout the whole home.
