In this technical guide, the experts at Mira show you the steps to success when fitting the company’s Advance electric shower.

It should be noted that this step-by-step guide covers the water fed Advance unit and is intended to be used with the manufacturer’s installation guide, which contains further information not covered in this publication.

Before commencing work, a dedicated RCD protected electrical feed, from the consumer unit, suitably rated for the product’s load and electrical safety is needed. There should also be a local electrical isolator fitted. Confirm that the maintained water pressure at the shower inlet will be above 1 bar. A pressure reducing valve is recommended if the water pressure is high or approaches 10bar. A whole house pressure reducing valve, set at typically 3 bar, could benefit other plumbing fittings by making them quieter in operation.
