Winners to go on study tour to 2018 NECA Conference in Philadelphia.
A range of top quality prizes have been announced for the ECA’s new industry-wide Power Players initiative, including the opportunity of a lifetime to go on a study tour to the USA.
The two winners of Power Players will be flown over to the Philadelphia, where the US National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is holding their annual conference in 2018. NECA has kindly agreed to host the two winners during the three-day event.
In addition, the winners will be treated to lunch with business guru Sir John Parker, who is the chairman of global mining firm Anglo American, and a former president of the Royal Academy of Engineering (from 2011 to 2014).
ECA CEO Steve Bratt commented: “With such fantastic prizes on offer for the winners of Power Players, we look forward to receiving entries from leading young people right across the industry.
“Power Players is a genuinely industry-wide event, and I am delighted to say that nearly 20 other organisations are now partnering on or supporting the initiative.”
Beth Ellis, Executive Director, NECA Convention said: “We’re excited that the winners are attending the NECA convention and trade show. We believe they will not only have a very educational experience, and the opportunity to see 1,000’s of products and services, but also have an exciting time in Philadelphia.”
Sir John Parker GBE FREng, Chairman of Anglo American, commented: “I am honoured to be invited to hopefully add some value to the winner of this important ECA award.”
A range of leading organisations from building services engineering are backing Power Players, including BSRIA, Electrical Safety First, FETA, Women’s Engineering Society and many more. To see the full list, please click here.

Power Players is a completely digital initiative aimed at those in the younger generation who have already made a strong start to their careers. Those entering are required to send in a short entry video about their innovative or inspirational work.
Power Players will open to entries in late April, and in the meantime anyone interested in the initiative can simply click here and provide their email address to sign up to updates.
