Click Litehouse, part of the Scolmore Group, continues to enjoy year on year growth and has identified an opportunity to capitalise on the growing demand for the ESP range of security products across Ireland.
This has resulted in the setting up of a brand new operation – ESPi – which will bring the extensive range of ESP fire protection and security products to the whole of Ireland, via a dedicated team and through the various channels that serve the requirements of the industry across the country.
The new operation will allow ESPi to identify and target the security wholesale outlets responsible for supplying the various Private Security Authority (PSA) license-holding contractors that operate in southern Ireland and at the same time allows ESP to continue to supply their existing electrical wholesaler customers in Northern Ireland.
Headed up by Derek McKever as general manager, ESPi will operate as a stand-alone business that fully replicates the ESP business operation in the UK with access to the same products, marketing support, technical support and new product development.
Derek has a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and contacts to bring to the new role. He started out in the emergency lighting business in 1989 and was employed by a leading UK based company specialising in lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems from 1997 to 2015, when he joined the Scolmore Click Litehouse business. With a degree in Electrical Engineering added to his qualifications in 2004, he is currently a member of Engineers Ireland and has been associated with the national standards committed for Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting for the past seven years.
Joining Derek as ESPi sales manager is Adam McLaughlin, who has been with the Click Litehouse business for nearly eight years. Adam came to the business from an electrical wholesale background and brings vast experience of the electrical industry. Jordan Swanson also joins the team as a technical sales representative, having previously worked with one of the largest electrical contractors in Ireland. His electrical background has given him a thorough understanding of the ESPi product range from an installation point of view.
Through the ESPi operation, Derek is keen to get the message across to the wholesalers that ESPi will have a focus on the contractor – in other words the products and service offered through the wholesalers are designed to help contractors get the most out of ESPi, with the right products, education and support that will be help them take on more ambitious projects, safe in the knowledge that a trusted brand is behind them.
The new ESPi business will operate from 3 Rock Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate, Sandyford in Dublin in close proximity to Click Litehouse. The premises are currently being refurbished and are due for opening in June.
