UK shower manufacturer, Mira Showers, has celebrated the production of its two millionth Mira Flight shower tray, at its £6m state-of-the-art facility in East Riding, Hull.
Mira Showers associates were joined by local media along with The Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull, Peter Allen, and the Chairman of East Riding Council, Margaret Chadwick, to witness the landmark tray being produced.
The Mira Flight shower tray, which was launched in 2004, is made from durable, acrylic-capped resin stone, is scratch and chip resistant, and features BioCote® technology to reduce bacteria and mould growth by up to 99.9%.
Last May, Mira Showers received the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category, for its Mira Flight Safe anti-slip shower tray.
Jon Ramsdale, New Product Development Director at Mira Showers, commented: “This milestone for the Mira Flight shower tray range is testament to both our associates’ hard work and a high-quality product.
“It’s always exciting to watch a product like this grow from strength to strength in such a short period of time.”
The impressive progress for the Mira Flight shower tray comes six years after a £6m investment by Mira Showers to relocate to the state-of-the art facility in Hull, which produces shower trays and enclosures.
Equipped with the latest technologies, the move has allowed Mira Showers to accommodate extra demand for the Mira Flight shower trays through increased production capabilities.
This has led to increased employment in the Hull area and benefitted key local businesses in the region.
Waste was also cut by 300 tonnes per year and the reduction of heavy goods traffic through Hull was cut by 35,000 miles per year.
The Mira Flight range is available in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit all bathrooms and is supported with a 10-year guarantee. For more information or to find your nearest stockist visit www.mirashowers.co.uk
