SummitSkills launches a helpline for questions about new apprenticeship.
A new helpline for questions about the electrotechnical trailblazer apprenticeship has been opened by SummitSkills. The new apprenticeship standard was launched last year following consultation with industry employers.
SummitSkills will coordinate responses to any queries or technical questions, for example, changes within the new standard and approaches to assessment. In addition to the helpline, the website also contains a list of Frequently Asked Questions linked to the apprenticeship.
“For many years SummitSkills has been the first port of call for training providers and employers with queries on apprenticeship frameworks and certification, so this new role is an extension of that activity and one in which we’re well-versed.”
“For many years SummitSkills has been the first port of call for training providers and employers with queries on apprenticeship frameworks and certification, so this new role is an extension of that activity and one in which we’re well-versed,” said Nigel Hollett, Chief Executive of SummitSkills. “We look forward to supporting the industry with their questions and comments.”
Chair of the Discipline Employer Group, David Barlow, added: “With any new apprenticeship as it moves from development to implementation, issues arise that can’t be foreseen. SummitSkills will provide the first response service to capture feedback and answer queries.
“Any significant issues will be fed back to the Employer Group, The Electrotechnical Skills Partnership and the IET, and will be taken into account when standard comes to review in three years’ time.”
