Midlands based LED lighting manufacturer Tamlite Lighting has been shortlisted in two categories for this year’s Insider Made in the Midlands Awards.
The leading independent lighting manufacturer has once again been named as a finalist for the Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer Award – having been crowned the winner of this category last year – and has also been shortlisted in the Manufacturer of the Year (Over £25m) category.
With a history dating back more than 50 years, Tamlite is proud of its Midlands manufacturing heritage. With five factories across the region, the company designs, manufactures and delivers lighting solutions for a range of different sectors to its customers across the UK.
In terms of sustainable manufacturing, the company has continued to enhance its position as an ethical lighting manufacturer both in terms of product design and the packaging and processes that are used to deliver its lighting solutions. As a result, since 2018, Tamlite has reduced plastic packaging use by 80% – the equivalent to well over 1 million plastic bags in the process – whilst using recyclable materials within its luminaires continues to be a major focus.
Tamlite Lighting’s Managing Director John Allden comments: “We are absolutely delighted to once again be named as a finalist for the Made in the Midlands Awards. We are proud of our Midlands roots and have continued to invest in our people and facilities across the region as part of our growth strategy. We wish all of the shortlisted companies ‘good luck’ and we very much look forward to the big night.”
Now in their 12th year, the awards are co-ordinated by leading business publisher Insider Media and celebrate excellence from businesses across the Midlands region. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 26 May 2022.
