Here’s part three of our January round-up of products, including energy efficient lighting, LED emergency fittings, safety locks and more, brought to you by some of your favourite brands.
Lewden – Caravan Hook-Up Units
In compliance with the latest wiring regulations, Lewden’s range of caravan hook up units has been upgraded to feature switched interlocked sockets that offer additional safety by preventing the socket contacts from being live when accessible.
Lewden’s modular topTER series of distribution boards is the ideal solution to meet this requirement, allowing the possibility to incorporate up to four 16A or 32A switched interlocked sockets within a single unit.
The flexible and robust enclosure design of the hook up units allows either 16A or 32A switched interlocked sockets to be interchanged on the same fixing flange and wire harness, making it easy to upgrade additional sockets quickly at a later stage.
The interlocking arrangement is achieved mechanically via the socket outlet and an integral AC3-AC23A category isolator switch. The isolator switch cannot be selected to the ‘ON’ position unless a plug has first been inserted.
It is then not possible to withdraw the plug from the outlet unless the isolator has first been selected to ‘OFF’, ensuring safe use of electricity in caravan/camping parks and similar locations. For maximum safety, these units have an overall 100A 2P main switch protection and use the latest 16A and 32A 2P 30mA Type B 6kA RCBOs compliant to EN 61009.
Allowing safe electrical operation inside a caravan or motor home, these caravan hook up units offer many benefits including metered versions with MID certified 45A KWH meters for each socket to ensure accuracy for consumer billing purposes.
Niglon – Safety Lock Out Range
Niglon has reiterated its commitment to electrical safety with a new safety lock out range aimed at protecting both contractors and end users from unsafe exposure to electrical current.
The range has been designed to protect against electrical shocks by preventing circuits from being connected when they need to be out of use during an electrical installation, for maintenance purposes or for safe isolation in an operational environment.
The comprehensive selection includes a variety of lock out devices for varied applications – including safety padlocks, lock out hasps, MCB lock out devices, industrial plug lock outs, no hole lock out devices and grip tight lock out devices – ensuring contractors, maintenance teams and operators can find the right accessory to meet their needs in any installation or industrial environment.
The lock out kit has been designed to offer a handy starter pack that ensures contractors, maintenance teams and safety personnel always have the right device and labelling equipment to hand. Saxby Lighting – Sleek CCT Light
The Sleek CCT is an energy efficient LED under cabinet style light, which is available in a choice of lengths to suit your customer’s lighting requirements.
Boasting new Colour Changing Technology (CCT), it allows the user to have a choice of three colour temperatures to fit within their space. The shade has light diffusing technology giving a soft glow. These products can be interconnected for a seamless line of light or use the link lead for corners.
The product features Cool Touch, comes in opal and gloss white polycarbonate finish and is supplied with a rocker switch. It can butt-connected together, with up to a maximum of eight, fittings and comes complete with integrated control gear.
GreenBrook – Colour Changing Fire Rated Downlight
Vela Switch is a colour changing LED fire rated downlight that can be switched from 3,000k to 4,000k.
The switch to change the colour temperature is conveniently placed on the side of the product (not the back of the can) and the product has an integrated driver and loop-in and loop-out terminals to assist in a quick and easy installation.
Supplied with either a frosted or clear lens, the range is available in three different bezel colours: white, polished chrome and satin chrome. GreenBrook has tested the range to ensure they are suitably fire rated for use in 30, 60 & 90 minute ceilings and that they conform to EN 60598 and to Building Regulations Part B, C, E & L.
CED – Meridian LED Emergency Fittings
The comprehensive range of Meridian LED emergency fittings has been replaced by an all new range of better value fittings designed to meet the needs of this highly competitive market sector.
The range includes IP65 rated twin spots with either 2x3W or 2x7W LED spots, similarly rated bulkheads with 3W and 6W power options, plus IP20 rated 3W exit boxes and panel lights – the latter with wall, ceiling mounted and chain hanging options.
Accessories include alternative signage legends and recess kits. All fittings come with three hour maintained and non-maintained options while BSEN standards guarantee product quality.
Red Arrow Trading – Power-Lite Globe Light
This 110V 30W Globe Light is an efficient portable workspace lighting solution.
The globe light is a compact design so that it can be easily transported around site for use as required. It includes a tripod option which allows the fitting to be elevated and increase the spread of the 360 degree light distribution.
An emergency version of the globe light is also available which includes a power switch so that the user can conserve battery power to ensure that the fitting is always ready in the event of a power failure.
The non-emergency and emergency globe light both have a 6500K Colour temperature, include a two year guarantee and are IP54 rated.
