REHAU launches LINIAN Push-fit Fire Clip

In response to the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations, REHAU has launched the LINIAN Push-fit Fire Clip.

REHAU’s new fire clip set provides fire-resistant cable support compliant with the updated regulations.

The new fire clip is fitted with fire-rated stainless-steel cable-ties to contain the cables.

The resulting design is suitable for all REHAU cable trunking systems. One fire clip can carry two cable ties, which can in turn secure cables in two compartments.

For installation, installers need only drill a small hole through the trunking into the wall, where the fire clip can then be pushed through.

Once the wiring is complete, the cabling is secured by attaching and threading the stainless steel cable ties through the fire clip.

The 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations require all private and public buildings to ensure wiring systems are sufficiently supported against premature collapse in the event of a fire.

The changes apply to all non-metallic cable trunking systems and, though PVC trunking systems are still acceptable, standard cable clips or ties are no longer suitable as the sole means of cable support.

Where PVC or non-metallic trunking systems are used, an additional fire-resistant means of support and retention is mandatory.
