Armorduct, a specialist manufacturer of cable management systems, has expanded into a new 24,500 sq ft distribution centre in Kingswingford, West Midlands.
The building adds to Armorduct’s two manufacturing facilities in the West Midlands and will become the company’s new head office. Armorduct is investing £250,000 in the fit out of the distribution centre, which will enhance customer service in line with a growing demand for cable containment solutions.
New storage equipment, comprising 1,200m of pallet and cantilever racking, is currently being installed along with a customer collection facility.
The site will house the company’s full product range, including cable containment, cable trunking, and cable trays and baskets – which are all designed and manufactured by Armorduct in the UK. Distributed via a network of national and independent electrical wholesalers, the products are used by mechanical and electrical (M&E) contractors in the infrastructure, education, healthcare and commercial sectors.
Alfie Rowe, Managing Director of Armorduct, said: “Construction output remains strong, and continues to drive demand for our products right across the UK. Expanding into a new distribution centre will ensure we can meet our customers’ needs and are in a strong position to accommodate rising sales.
“The site will enable us to increase our stock levels and provide a quicker and more effective service for deliveries and collections. Overall, this will significantly improve the experience for our customers, offering them greater flexibility and shorter lead times.
“We have also created a dedicated space for our new call and collect service, combined with plenty of car parking to smooth the process.”
A team of 20 will be based at the distribution centre, including two new recruits in the warehouse. The site will also be home to Armorduct’s finance and sales departments.
Established in 1998 and employing 80 people, Armorduct has the skills to manufacture bespoke cable management systems as well as standard products.
