Thorn Lighting publish whitepaper on NightTune technology

According to a news article published on the International Dark-Sky Association’s website, “Globally we spend at least $50 billion in energy costs each year to produce light that escapes into space.”

Not only does wasted light impact negatively on our dark skies, artificial light at night can have consequences for human wellbeing and wildlife. Thorn Lighting’s NightTune technology has been designed to limit these negative impacts of artificial light at night. It achieves this by adjusting colour temperatures and outputs depending on the time of night and surrounding environment.

In this newly published whitepaper, the NightTune technology is explored in greater detail. This includes an insight into how the LEDs operate, and comparisons drawn between NightTune’s spectral distribution compared to other fixed 3000K dimmable solutions.

The whitepaper also looks at research and studies from industry experts, academics and scientists and is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
