Blackburn-based electrical contracting business, Voltex Electrical has officially been launched.
Chris Maher, Managing Director of Voltex Electrical, is the man behind the business. As a fully qualified electrician, Chris has worked in the electrical industry for over 10 years and after building up a mass of knowledge and experience, he has now created Voltex Electrical.
Chris started to set up the business in the early months of 2016 which included designing the logo, building a new website and registering for electrical accreditations. With everything ready to go, Voltex Electrical was born and officially opened for business on 1 July 2016.
“My dad had his own electrical contracting company when I was growing up so I’ve naturally been involved and had a passion for anything electrical.”
The business provides any aspect of electrical work including the installation of LED lighting, emergency lighting and rewiring. Works carried out are predominantly for the commercial, domestic and industrial markets.
With strong growth predicted for LED lighting over the coming years, Voltex Electrical is setting itself up to become specialists in this area. Many companies are already recognising that by switching their traditional lighting to an equivalent LED fitting, they can reduce their electricity bills by up to 75%.
Since launching the company in July, Chris has already secured two large contracts for LED installation from Mercol Furniture Ltd and Assembly Solutions Ltd.
“I always knew I wanted my own electrical business from a very young age,” said Chris. “My dad had his own electrical contracting company when I was growing up so I’ve naturally been involved and had a passion for anything electrical. I was just five years old when I wired my first plug – I think that says it all!”
