BEAMA has published a new guidance document Β to aid designers, installers and inspectors to correctly select and erect Cable Management Systems to prevent cables from premature collapse due to the effects of heat caused by fire. The guide aims to provide guidance relating to the 18th Edition of BS 7671 (Regulation Β 521.10.202) which states that βWiring systems shall be supported such that they will not be liable to premature collapse in the event of a fire.β
BEAMA have been working on further guidance in respect of premature collapse. In conjunction with many stakeholders, including the fire services, the following guidance has been established for designers, installers and inspectors.
